Miss A ~ Watermelon Smash Birthday

This little one was so excited for her watermelon “cake” that she continued to dive face first into it to eat it!

At first, she wasn’t too sure about this whole picture thing, but it didn’t take long before she was offering me flowers and giving the cutest little smiles. How stinkin cute!

That “shyness” ….it’s pretty typical! Around the time these little ones come for their first birthday, they’ve started to “make strange”. And not just with me, but in general. So it’s not uncommon that they aren’t too sure about this strange place (the studio) and the silly lady (me) who greets them. Sometimes it just takes a moment or two, and they can’t help but start to giggle. Of course I’d love to dive right in and pick them up and give them little hugs, but that’s scary! So I keep talking, laughing, making silly faces, silly noises, sing (sorry parents, I’m not very good so you also get to listen! haha) and do whatever it takes for them to realize, hmmm she’s pretty funny, she’s ok. :) And then comes the realization for them that the studio is FILLED with new and interesting items, that often they want to check out, touch, feel, play with and figure out. It’s pretty exciting and no matter whether you’re little one is shy or not, don’t worry! I got it!
