Sister Sister

I’ve known these two women for quite some time. We went actually went to high school together but that’s not really what connected us! 11 years ago Brittany (brunette) contacted me to do maternity photos for her and her husband’s first baby. It was one of the first that I had done and I still love those images! Over the years, Brittany has booked a yearly session even though she lives in the St Thomas area of Ontario! Almost 2 years ago the exciting news that they were expecting again was told to me! I followed along with them and was so excited. And then tragedy came for this beautiful family. Their sweet baby Isla had passed away in utero at 8 months along. I was crushed for them. I knew how long awaited and loved this sweet little one was. I talked with her the night before she was to go and deliver their baby, she knew I had done loss photography, my angel sessions and asked me whether I knew anyone around them that could. I wish I could have driven up for this, but we also were still in the confinements of Covid restrictions so I walked her through what her husband or a nurse could do and how.
This loss hit me pretty hard too. I couldn’t bare the thought at sitting around and doing nothing. So I found a company in the UK that makes bears, in the lenght and weight of the baby, and knew this is what I would do. When the bear arrived, she was beautiful! Her name was embroidered on her foot, she came with a “birth” certificate and more. Her sister, (the blond) came to pick it up to bring it when she went up to see her.
Over the last year I’ve been sent regular updates and photos of “Baby Isla” and her big brother. He absolutely adored the bear and carried and kept her with him.

Last year, when Brittany contacted me and told me the news they were expecting again, we both were in shock and SO happy. Then I got the news her sister was ALSO pregnant! Another great surprise! And another rainbow baby!

Between Christmas & New Years we were able to coordinate some maternity photos and her sister was able to make it for a few! How cool is this?

We also recreated some of the images I took 11 years ago for big brother! (last shot is side by side….I guess dad looks a little older but that’s it!)

Brittany (brunette) has a son and this baby is a daughter! And Lacey (blond) has three daughters and now a son! And I am enjoying watching the updates of these two sweet little beebs!
